Two Great Job Descriptions:

A job description is one of the most important parts of the recruitment process. Too many people just throw a list of responsibilities into Chat GPT and then post on a job site. In order to really get the candidates you want you need to write words that get them to take action and apply.

Why is it good?:

  • Short

  • Has pay range

  • Has the exact softwares the candidate needs to be proficient in

  • The structure is simple & easy to read

  • Has pay range

  • What you will be doing

  • What you won’t be doing

What Makes A Good Job Description?

A well-crafted job description not only attracts the right candidates but also sets clear expectations and helps filter out unqualified applicants.Your job description will act as a block to the wrong types.

In the recruitment space there is a lot of disagreement about this topic. In our experience hiring from over 15 different countries, it is almost always better to disclose the salary in the job description.

It will save you & the candidates significant time.

If a job you post shows the salary but gets no applicants, it could mean the pay is too low or it's advertised in the wrong place.

To write a great job description that not only get’s our ideal candidates eyeballs, but makes them apply we need to follow a simple criteria:

  1. Make it easy to read (sorry no ChatGPT word vomit)

  2. Make it short

  3. State the pay range

  4. State what the interview process is i.e. # of rounds, skill tests, and timeline

  5. How you will contact them
